Q2 Scholarship FAQs

Thank you for your interest in taking the Q2: Beyond Mom and Dad! We offer partial scholarships raised through donations to the Hoffman Institute Scholarship Fund. Applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis, and must be submitted with tax documents at least two weeks prior to your desired course.

Please review the Frequently Asked Questions below before beginning your application.

What is the range of amount for awards?

We offer partial scholarships for up to half of the tuition amount, and you are responsible for the entire tuition less the partial scholarship, as well as any optional additional charges (i.e. – additional overnights, store merchandise, room upgrades). The current tuition for the Hoffman Process is $6,950 USD / $9,650 CAD so the maximum partial scholarship is $3,475 USD / $4,825 CAD, and the minimum tuition amount you are responsible for is $3,475 USD / $4,825 CAD.

How do you determine awards? What’s the criteria?

Scholarship awards are based on several factors, including financial need and one’s readiness to do the work involved in participating in the Q2. We will look at your complete financial picture (your earnings, monthly expenses, savings, and debt) as well as how you intend to utilize what you will have gained from the Q2.

Do scholarship awards ever expire?

They do. The number of scholarship awards are limited for each Q2. Therefore, you must register for a Q2 date that occurs within six months of the date you receive the award. If you are unable to register and the award expires, you may reapply by following the same procedure.

May I combine my scholarship award with another promotion or discount?

The award cannot be combined with any other offers. However, you may request information about a Payment Plan Contract.

What’s expected of me if I receive a scholarship award?

Within one month of completing your Q2, you must write a letter to the Scholarship Committee. In this letter, please describe what the experience meant to you, both personally and professionally. These letters provide important feedback to the Committee, as well as to those who have generously donated to our Scholarship Fund. Your letter will not be used for any other purpose without your permission, though we may excerpt a line or two for use in materials that explain the benefits of our Scholarship Fund.

I haven’t filed taxes lately, and there are extenuating circumstances why. What should I do?

We still REQUIRE a copy of the first two pages of the last tax return you filed, even if it was years ago. You can explain the circumstances on your application.

I’m not a resident of the United States (or Canada) and/or I don’t have to file taxes. Am I allowed to apply?

You are absolutely allowed to apply, but with your application you’ll need to provide official documentation (pay stubs, bank statements, etc.) of your earnings, monthly expenses, savings, and debt.

May I skip the application and just write you an email about my particular circumstances and be considered for a scholarship?

No. We require an application and the last tax return you filed in order to be considered.

Are the awards different for California, Connecticut and Canada?

Other than currency (USD vs CAD), there is no difference.

I’m concerned about sending this highly confidential information to you. Is it safe?

Yes. Our web portal is secured with SSL Certificate encryption and therefore far less vulnerable to hackers than email. The only staff members who will see your documents are the Scholarship Committee. Please feel free to black-out your social security (or social insurance) number. We do not need it.
